The topping is crispy and crumbly, it has a good balance of flavors, not overly sweet and the amount of cinnamon is perfect. We ate it warm with some vanilla ice cream and it was super tasty! Hi Trini, thanks for the comment. I generally use granny smith for this recipe, but really any apple will work. I think tart varieties are usually better for baking?
