I am also using mini muffin silacone moulds instead of tin. I have converted the temp to 160c (I am in Australia) do you think these variables have made a difference? they have been in now for 18 mins and are not quite golden. I’m gonna take them out soon just because it has been so much longer than yours. I’ll let u know the result. the dough was delicious so I’m sure they will be amazing! my 3 yr old helped me and she can’t wait to try

You can use butter, but then I’d leave out the extra Tbsp of water. You can actually use any cookie recipe you want. I just thought that the shortening kept the cookies softer, and not as crispy.

We make something similar for hubby’s birthday every year. We just make the giant version (cookie cake as he calls it)! So good, love the mini version!
