In reply to Natalie M.. I don't remember how many, but I think 1/3 should be enough for 2 people. It made more than I expected. We had more than enough for 2 breakfasts, and Mike ate a lot of waffles ;) I hope you like them!

How many waffles did this make for you and Mike? I clicked on the food network link and it says it makes 6 (8 inch) waffles. Do you think if I do 1/3 of a batch (for the hubby and I) that it will make enough for 2 people?

Oooh, Megan these look so yummy! I laughed when you mentioned making holiday foods early – that’s what I felt like I did with these red velvet brownies last week (though I was supposed to bring a treat for our ski trip, so it was a good excuse 🙂 ). Oh no, does this mean I’m turning into a food blogger?!

Yes, it is correct – don’t forget there is also 1/2 cup of cocoa powder in there. My normal buttermilk waffle recipe uses 2 cups of buttermilk for 2 cups of flour, which is pretty similar to this ratio. If you try it, let me know how it turns out! 🙂

2 cups of buttermilk??? With only 11/2 cups of flour and the eggs and butter that just seems like too much liquid to me. I don’t want to do it until I am sure. I made a recipe the other week and it said cook 400 degrees. I thought that was too high and did 375. It was still too hot. Come to find out it should have been 350. )-:
