30 Minute Pizza Dough

30 Minute Pizza Dough

I am so excited that I found this recipe for 30 minute pizza dough, and I think you’re going to be equally excited that I’m sharing it with you!  Homemade pizza is a staple in our house – I try to make some version of pizza at least a few times a month. We all love pizza, and it’s really not hard to make at all – especially now that I’ve found this new pizza dough recipe. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my old favorite recipe for pizza dough, but this new one is almost as good, and takes much less time to make – 30 minutes from start to finish! I’ve made it multiple times now, and we love it each and every time. And I especially love that the dough only has to rest for 10 minutes before rolling it out and baking it. I use those 10 minutes to make my pizza sauce, and suddenly pizza night turns into one of the quickest weeknight meals around. 🙂

*If you’re intimidated by yeast dough or homemade pizza, this is a good recipe to start with. The dough comes together easily, and after resting for 10 minutes, it is very easy to roll out into one large pizza or two smaller pizzas.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1 Tbsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2-3 cups all purpose flour (I've also used half whole wheat flour with good results!)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F. In a large bowl or in the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, mix the water, honey, oil, yeast and salt. Add the flour gradually until a soft dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Start with 2 cups, and add the extra as needed. The dough should be soft and smooth. If it is sticky, you will need to add some extra flour.
  2. Knead the dough for 3-4 minutes in the stand mixer (or 5-6 minutes by hand). Transfer the dough to parchment paper that has been sprinkled with cornmeal. Let the dough rest, covered, for 10 minutes. Shape the dough into pizza(s), spread with sauce and toppings, and bake at 500 degrees on a preheated pizza stone or on a lightly greased baking sheet for 8-10 minutes

  1. Does this freeze well?

  2. Is this a crunchy pizza dough? I hope so. It looks like it.
